Free Sat Buying Guide
Free sat lets you experience the brilliance of subscription-free high definition TV and much, much more. Discover what’s on offer and how to get it – you’ll soon be putting your feet up and enjoying a wealth of entertainment.

What is freesat?
freesat is a brand new digital service offering a world of TV, radio, interactive TV, and high definition programmes from the BBC and ITV (launches from middle of May), with no contract, no subscription - just a one-off payment.
There's a huge choice of entertainment with freesat including movies, music, sport, lifestyle, children's, shopping, news and more. With over 80 channels available, including your favourite radio stations, you’ll never be bored. Finding what you want is easy too, thanks to the electronic programme guide.

The brilliance of HD

If you've got an HD Ready TV, take advantage of the high definition content on offer. With four times more detail than normal TV, deeper and richer more vivid colours, plus atmospheric surround sound, all you need is an HDMI cable to enjoy the brilliance of HD.
Even if you haven’t upgraded to an HD Ready TV yet, there’s an abundance of standard definition channels to enjoy.

Get interactive
Want to catch up with the news headlines, get an update on the weather, or find out if your team has won? By pressing the red button on your freesat remote, you can get the information you want through easy-to-use menus. Or how about switching stages at music festivals, or tables at snooker tournaments? Interactive TV is as fun as it is informative!
Can I receive freesat where I live?
With freesat being broadcast via satellite, it's available to almost every household in the UK.
What equipment do I need?
To receive freesat you’ll need:
1. A freesat digital receiver box or a TV with an integrated receiver
2. A satellite dish installed and connected to the receiver
Do you already have a satellite dish?
Yes - It may be possible for you to receive freesat with your current dish.
No - We recommend that your dish is supplied and installed by a qualified satellite installer. This can be arranged when you purchase your freesat receiver in store.
What about installation?
We offer a range of installation options, starting at £80 for a standard installation. This includes:
• A satellite dish and external components
• Fixing the dish to a suitable outer wall, up to 10 metres above ground level
• Up to 15m of cabling to supply one room of your household
• Cable ties and clips to neatly run the cabling from the dish to the entry point
• Connection of one freesat receiver to the dish
• Signal strength and functional check of dish and freesat receiver
• Tuning and demonstration of freesat receiver
Other options are available, such as connection to a freesat receiver with a built-in recorder or connection to more than one room.
